My Musical Story

Self-taught Hobby to Career

I will never forget when I first found a cappella music. My friends and I in middle school were getting into video game music, and they mentioned how I should take a listen to the main theme from Skyrim, so I decided to do some digging. I ended up finding a video by Peter Hollens singing a cover of the Skyrim theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlCPOCwo3FY), and from then on, my life would forever change.

I've always loved singing, and I found a knack for beatboxing somewhere along the way. After digging this rabbit hole in 2014, I decided to do everything in my power to hone my craft as an a cappella artist. I've been to multiple camps/institutions and have sung in numerous groups, including:

  • Camp A Cappella (Bass/VP* - '17, '18, '23)

  • Centerville's Novae A Cappella (VP - '17, '18)

  • A Cappella Academy (Bass/VP - '19, '20, '21)

  • Centerville's Forte A Cappella (Bass - '19, '20),

  • Ohio University's New Chords on the Block (Bass/VP - '21, '22),

  • Ebb n' Flo (Baritone/Bass/VP - '21-present)

  • *VP = Vocal Percussion

I mainly picked up music production and audio recording out of necessity for me to participate in A Cappella Academy 2020 given that it would be virtual. I was told that we were to send in our own audio tracks from home since we couldn't travel anywhere to record. My mom bought me my first microphone to help me start this process, a Tonor Q9 USB microphone, and I downloaded MixPad as my first DAW - the rest is history. Since beginning to explore music production, I want to share my craft with others and help other musicians put their music out there.

Since the Fall of 2021, I've spent my time at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, to learn more about the recording and production process in all kinds of music, especially in regards to working with local bands and playing in my cover band, Feline Frenzy. I'm hoping that through my education and experimentation, I can help bring new life to future music projects.

I specialize in producing, editing, mixing and mastering a cappella music, but I have also worked with other artists on mastering their productions for final release. You can find my released works and collaborations on my home page!

If you want to work with someone with a passion and drive for music, someone who will take any and all creative feedback and amplify it, don't look any further! I'm hoping that Parker Music Productions can help your projects come to life.
