Sugar Bush Foundation Project (Fall 2021)

For my first co-curricular reflection, I focused on my cohort project in the fall of 2021 in HC 2401 (OHP Engagement Lab) discussing my involvement in the Sugar Bush Foundation project. As a cohort, we drafted ideas of how the organization can best utilize multiple social media platforms to promote awareness of their cause, completed projects, and more.

The Evolution of The Bari-Tenors (Fall 2023)

For my second co-curricular, I focused on a small a cappella group called The Bari-Tenors (now called Ebb n’ Flo since June 2024) that I’ve had the privilege to sing in and produce for over the last 4 years. This experience captured my abilities as a leader focused on production and musical direction, but also how I was able to pass on my position as the music direction role to someone else to allow others within the group to grow and take the group to new heights.

Creating W.A.L.T. Productions (Spring 2024)

For my third co-curricular, I focused on how myself and other members of the Bari-Tenors were in the process of creating a small freelance a cappella production company entitled W.A.L.T. Productions. As much as the creation of the company would have been exciting, I also discussed how personal issues from other members started to chip away at our collective goals and aspirations. It forced us to move in a new direction and understand how to not just lead by example, but how we collectively were able to address issues we haven’t necessarily had experience in dealing with before, giving us clearer insight into how we work as a team and think higher than ourselves to pursue the best interests of our future company and our a cappella group.

Feline Frenzy: Start to Finish

For my fourth co-curricular, I focused on how myself and the members of Feline Frenzy built our band entirely from scratch, evolving it from a small class project into a full-fledged community musical presence. I explored how we balanced creative freedom and leadership responsibilities - learning guitar performance in a live setting for the first time, organizing rehearsals, finding gigs, and keeping things stress-free and fun. We led by example through mutual support, performance planning, and by fostering a welcoming energy that extended into the local scene. This experience taught me how to find joy, growth, and community through music while developing time management and creative skills that support both my personal and professional goals.

A.L.T. Records Pipeline

For my fifth co-curricular, as a continuation of W.A.L.T., I reflected on how A.L.T. Records - a developing production company - grew from my virtual work with Ebb N Flo and became a hands-on platform for leadership, collaboration, and musical growth. I examined how our small team split responsibilities efficiently, from arrangement to editing and mixing, creating a smooth pipeline for producing high-quality a cappella music. This process showed me how shared leadership can help both clients and creators succeed. Looking forward, I want to explore how we can make the company more sustainable, establish an LLC, and expand our client base. This journey has reinforced my passion for collaborative music-making and given me insights into how to grow a fulfilling, creatively driven, and financially conscious career in music.
